These handmade masterpieces symbolized unmatched craftsmanship, with production secrets closely guarded and passed down through select artisans. When these artisans later migrated to Taiwan, they brought this revered tradition with them. Over time, however, the knowledge and skill required to craft Shilin knives became scarce, as many families ceased production, leaving a void in this ancient art.
